@turbobuttoninc: We’re working on bringing our VR game Floor Plan 2 to non-VR platforms, and that has meant even more changes to the game than we originally anticipated. When we first started working on Floor Plan: Slap Out Of It!, we knew we wanted the game to have full first-person locomotion. It seemed like the most obvious (and fun) choice to be able to freely run around the environments. But that one simple choice has introduced a lot of design challenges. In the VR game, you could only move to certain, pre-determined locations. That meant we could design environments that had a lot of detail and interactions up close, and everything else in the background could be kept pretty minimal. It worked really well for VR, but now that you can freely move around these spaces, we want to make sure that every nook and cranny is packed with fun, silly details. Some of these details are useful for puzzles, and some of them aren’t. But no matter what, we want to make sure each and every one is fun and satisfying to slap!
