@drdavidmorris: Why are you tired but still can't sleep? Sleep medication may help some people fall asleep, but persistent insomnia can sometimes involve more than bedtime alone. This video explains how your body's natural cortisol rhythm may influence sleep quality, why timing matters, and why identifying the underlying pattern can be an important part of understanding chronic sleep challenges. 👇Have you ever felt exhausted all day but suddenly wide awake at night? #sleep #insomnia #cortisol #stressmanagement #circadianrhythm #sleephealth #functionalmedicine #wellness #murfreesboro #magnoliamedicalcenter #rootcause #fyp #viral

I've had a lot not insomnia problems and have tried so many things. My cortisol levels were basically a flat line with a slight upward in the evening. I took phos-serine to blu t cortisol at night and this was helpful. Also too some adrenal support supplements in the morning to try to correct that. I also recently learned that if your ferritin is 50 or lower it could be contributing to insomnia. So I started taking an absorbable iron every other day and it made a huge difference in my sleep! I take the iron w glycine at night an hour before bed on empty stomach for higher absorption. Some nights I got almost 9 hours of sleep! 😁

18 years with chronic insomnia and on prescription sleep medication. And not one provider has ever looked for the root cause. I just asked my new PCP to check my melatonin labs, she refused.
