The United States should implement a reciprocal immigration policy. So, if your country requires proof of sustainability/income, $X dollars in savings, and a sponsor, the United States should do the same for the citizen of that country. It’s only fair.

My cousin was living in legally Malaysia with her parents when she turned 18. Malaysia immediately told her she had to leave until she got a college degree and could support herself. She was an adult at 18 and had to go. She did come back to the US and got a degree. Can’t remember if she went back or not.

We have some friends who are currently going through the immigration process from Canada. They (Canada have a 50% exit tax. To leave Canada. They’ve talked to lawyers they’ve talked to accountants. That is steep.

I lived in Australia for 6.5 years. The paperwork to get there was insane. I had a work visa and then got a permanent residency visa and again the paperwork and cost was a lot
