Growing up in the South Bronx, surrounded by poverty, abuse, and a difficult environment, I never could’ve imagined that one day my artwork would be hanging in homes all over the world. Every time I look at the shipping labels and see all the different countries my paintings are going to, it honestly makes me emotional. You made a dream come true that I didn’t even know was possible. To all the artists out there who ask how I’ve been able to sell so many prints and have so many returning collectors, my biggest piece of advice is this: make the absolute best art you possibly can. Don’t cut corners. Put everything you have into every painting. Use the best materials you can afford, the best paints, the best brushes, get a printer that prints the best quality, and print on museum quality archival paper that’s made to last for generations. Beyond that, be consistent. Create work that feels uniquely yours. Tell the story behind each piece so people connect with it emotionally. Sign every single print by hand, package every order with care, treat every collector with gratitude, and always overdeliver. If someone spends their hard earned money supporting your work, make the experience feel special from the moment they order to the moment they open the package. At the end of the day, I believe the best marketing will always be creating artwork that people genuinely love enough to tell their friends and family about. Focus on making something you’re truly proud of, and let quality become your reputation. Thank you again for believing in me and allowing me to do what I love every single day.
