@deep.conspiracy0: Archaeologists in western Ukraine uncovered a man and woman buried face-to-face, their arms and legs positioned in what appears to be an embrace. The grave, found near Petrykiv, is linked to the Vysotska culture and dates back roughly 3,000 years. Pottery and bronze ornaments were discovered beside them, but no other burial in the cemetery showed the same intimate arrangement. One theory suggests the woman may have entered the grave voluntarily because arranging two bodies this precisely would have been difficult. But archaeologists cannot confirm that interpretation—or even prove the pair were married. Was it love, ritual or an ancient belief about the afterlife? The position survived.
