Thanos was inevitable. Doom is unpredictable. Thanos walked into battle. Doom makes you walk into his battle. Big difference. Doom doesn't always overpower people because he's physically stronger. He wins because He's always prepared, he exploits weaknesses, he manipulates alliess and enemies alike, and he often has multiple contingency plans. that's what makes him terrifying.
