@abbiecantwell: What helped me get into medical school! People get in from varieties of backgrounds so there’s a million ways to get there but I get this question so often I wanted to try to answer it! ❤️ #fyp #doctorsoftiktok #womeninmedicine #medicalstudent #medicalschool
It’s wild to me that there are med students who never had clinical experience before med school… like wdym your first healthcare job will be as a doctor?! And wdym you’ve never had to help a patient bathe or provide support in a vulnerable time??

any tips on raising your score in MCAT I can pass on to my daughter? she's feeling discouraged taking it for the 2nd time in September. She had a 3.6 GPA for bio sciences bachelor's and scored a 478 first time. she studied her butt off. she's really struggling with thinking she can do it.

Do you feel like being D3 would have the same benefit? I’m going D3 to a school with much stronger academics than athletics mostly because I like my sport and want to continue, but a strong activity on my resume is pretty nice!

Did you do any research? I have been building up the rest of my stats like maintaining grades, volunteering, clinical hours, working, and i have yet to take the mcat but studying for that lol. Im scared that not having research may mess up my application.

Abbie, you have been truly inspiring to me as a Senior undergraduate student athlete who is embarking on applying remedial school this spring. Thank you for being such a great female role model for us young pre-meds wanting to be a girly pop in medicine!

I am going into 11th grade and my grades weren’t the best but they got a lot better at 10th grade year so they were like A’s a minus around the age range and in eighth grade and seventh grade to middle school. It was really bad because I used to get these and F and that brought me to lower class so I couldn’t get myself to honors and I realized that I was really pretty smart, but I couldn’t get out of those classes because of my grades when I was younger so I’m debating whether I wanna be a nurse because like it’s a lot easier than going to the medical school, but my dream is always to become a doctor like an OB/GYN so or do you like general medicine I feel like that be a lot for me to memorize, especially I tried taking like memorization tests and I did really really bad at those, but I really wanna like become a doctor. I really want influenced by some of my family members and TV show shows on Grey’s Anatomy.
