@thebritspot: Big respect to the community for bringing joy back into his life 👏❤️ 75-year-old widower David Whitehead and his late wife had spent years rescuing dogs while living in County Down, Northern Ireland. But after moving into a rented home in Chorlton, Manchester, his new tenancy didn't allow pets. David often found himself missing the companionship they had always brought so he did something incredibly brave. He hand-delivered a heartfelt letter to around 40 neighbours, asking if anyone would let him meet their dogs or even join them on the occasional walk. The response was far more than he ever imagined. After his letter was shared online, neighbours from across the community reached out. Within 4 days, David had already met five dogs, with plenty more walks and coffee catch-ups lined up.
