I think you’re thinking of EastPak. Jansport has always been expensive and you had to go to a department store to get the “cool kid” prints with the suede bottoms.

Jansport were never at Walmart. You had to go to a department store or Dicks. To date myself, I got mine when I was in middle school at Service Merchandise.
