she's literally my mom. she always brushes it and I keep telling her "stop, you're destroying your curls, they're perfect" and even this morning, she had her hair natural and unbrushed, she looked at me and said "oh! I look like a mess" and I instantly said "no, water it and crunch. put the hair tie down." and I got her to actually do it, I loved it, showed her it was how curls are, that they're not going to stay tightly against the head, they're not hiding. and it's so pretty.

as a white girl with curly hair i had to start cutting my own hair cause every hairdresser i ever went to absolutely ruined it. there was one who literally straightened my hair before cutting it cause she couldnt cut it while curly... i cant even imagine how frustrating it must be for people with afros

Gosh she is gorgeous. I have been blowing my hair out for years because I felt my curl hair was unprofessional. Meanwhile it’s breaking off from heat styling. She makes me want to try wearing my hair curly again
