@offenceregister: Liam Laverick Hull Child Killer and Abuse Liam Laverick, 25, was released from prison in 2019 after serving a custodial sentence for the "monstrous" murder of his 27-day-old son, Tommy-Lee, according to the Offender Register. The defendant, who resides in Hull, East Yorkshire, was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison for homicide upon his appearance at Hull Crown Court in 2015. On September 23, 2014, it was reported that Laverick "reprehensibly" shook or hurled the fragile infant, who measured only 52cm, in response to the child's crying, as a result of his anger. The investigation confirmed the "grim" and violent nature of the environment that Laverick established. Tommy-Lee succumbed to a "catastrophic brain injury" at the hospital two days following the assault, according to Humberside Police. A post-mortem examination disclosed extensive bleeding throughout the brain. The prosecution stated that Laverick was a well-known "domestic abuse perpetrator" who had been violent and abusive to the child's mother during their relationship. Investigative Detail and Judicial Findings Even during the legal proceedings, Laverick demonstrated "shameful" cruelty, according to the court. Laverick "vilely" taunted the grieving mother from the dock when the jury delivered its verdict in 2015, according to the Hull Crown Court. The inquiry determined that authorities had discontinued monitoring the family just months prior to the birth due to their erroneous confidence in the welfare of an older sibling. This decision left the newborn "reprehensibly" susceptible to Laverick's "warped" temper. In 2015, the Trial Judge observed that Laverick's actions were a "monstrous" violation of a father's obligation. Laverick was found guilty of manslaughter for his actions in Hull. The judge observed that the defendant exhibited no remorse. This "shameful" characteristic persisted throughout his incarceration, during which he reportedly sent "vile" threats of violence to the family from his prison cell.
