An ENTIRE tub of crickets escaped and they would not leave, they would jump everywhere and we had to stay up till like 4am trying to squash them all… I use wax worms to feed my gecko now

Girl i literally have a farm of those fuckers except i haven’t figured out how to breed them yet. Sometimes when they escape my family finds them hanging out in the bathroom while they shit bcs they’re very noisy

you can put them in the fridge for 20-30 minutes before feeding it will slow them down and make them easier to catch and less jumpy

In the limestone cathedral of Cheile Turzii, Hili’s Grotto lurks without ceremony, a fissure more than a spectacle, the kind of place you’d miss if you blinked or doubted your footing. Locals call it a grotto rather than a cave, and that feels right, less grandiose, more conspiratorial. You arrive not to conquer it, but to be briefly tolerated by it. Hili’s Grotto is part of a karst system sculpted over millions of years, when this stretch of Transylvania lay under a warm, shallow sea. The gorge itself runs roughly 2.9 kilometers, its vertical walls sheltering over 60 bird species and a surprising density of endemic flora. The grotto doesn’t sprawl deep, but its modest chambers carry the signature of dissolution, mineral-rich water gnawing patiently at limestone, leaving behind damp walls that breathe cold even in high summer. Nearby, climbers trace bolted routes across the cliffs, while the Hășdate River keeps grinding away below, indifferent, methodical, eternal. There’s a peculiar austerity here, a refusal to entertain. No grand stalactite theatrics, no curated lighting, just stone, shadow, and the faint echo of your own intrusion. And yet, that restraint sharpens the experience, strips it to bone.
