I was told by a pharmacy that I couldn’t use coupons since I had health insurance. This was CVS - they own a whole health conglomerate. Not right.

FYI to everyone asking, the reason we don't just apply the discount card before you show up is because we need your permission to use them. They collect and sell your data. Without patient consent it could be considered a hipaa violation since you didn't approve us sharing your information with them.

one of my medications isn't covered under insurance and i walked up to get it and the lady saw the price and was shocked, 30 pills came out to 2700, found a coupon and dropped it to $11... like who the fuck is paying that much? and if there's a coupon to make it cheap why doesn't insurance do the same thing

I recently learned that every pharmacy charges a different price. I thought medicine was medicine, but nope. CVS got me my meds for less than $10/bottle while the pharmacy at Albertsons wanted $90. I just don’t understand how everyone is so complacent with the current system.

I called to cancel my internet yesterday because it was too expensive and the guy said "we can cut the price in half AND upgrade you" but they were fine stiffing me for 2 years.

This happens to me! They're ready to let me swipe my card for $500, and when I say I'll be back with a coupon code, they type and bring it down to $150. They added me to they're "savings club" to bring the price down. Why don't they automatically do that for everyone!

We don’t do coupons up front because when you use a GoodRx or SingleCare or whatever company coupon they get access to your information and we cannot share your information without your consent

And then next time you go to pick it up they say oh sorry, we didn’t fill it because your insurance requires a goat sacrifice so we just did nothing and didn’t tell you and now we can’t fill it anyways because we’re out of stock. Oh it’s BAD out there. I had to refill my blood thinner med for the first time. The cost was $98 with insurance. I was battling cancer so that is a lot for every 30 days. Someone told me to go to the manufacturer website. I join a club or something and get a card with a code. Submit to pharmacy boom $10!!!! Why? Why? What is the POINT?

You have to consent to most mfr assistance before they can apply it. You also have to state that you have a hardship. Those two things are ridiculous.
