MINIMUM SENTENCE FOR THOSE OFFENCES IS 15 YEARS. MAXIMUM IS 25 YEARS. NO JUDGE NOT EVEN THE CHIEF JUSTICE CAN GIVE LESS THAN 15 YEARS. SO MAYBE WONTUMI CAN APPEAL AND GET 15 YEARS INSTEAD OF THE 20 YEARS. COOL? PRESIDENT AKUFO ADDO AND NPP GOVT MADE THAT LAW. BEFORE THAT, JUDGES WERE ABLE TO GIVE EVEN SOME FEW MONTHS UP TO 5 YEARS. IN SOME CASES, JUDGES COULD IMPOSE FINES. AKUFO ADDO IN 2021 SAID, THE JUDGES ARE NOT USING THE LAW WELL SO HE WAS GOING TO CHANGE THE LAW ON MINING OFFENCES. THEN HE BROUGHT THIS LAW. NO FEW MONTHS IMPRISONMENT OR FINE. MINIMUM 15 YEARS AND MAXIMUM 25 YEARS.. DO YOU KNOW THE NUMBER OF GHANAIANS AND FOREIGNERS WHO HAVE BEEN ARRESTED AND IMPRISONED FOR BETWEEN 15 TO 25 YEARS UNDER THIS LAW? POLITICIANS ARE NOT BETTER THAN THE AVERAGE GHANAIAN WHO ARE IN PRISON FOR ILLEGAL MINING. SO POOR NORMAL GHANAIANS SHOULD BE ARRESTED AND INVESTIGATED AND PROSECUTED AND IMPRISONED BETWEEN 15 TO 25 YEARS FOR THIS SAME OFFENCE BUT CHAIRMAN WONTUMI AND POLITICIANS ARE ABOVE THE LAW AND SPECIAL, ABI?
