@missy23232: Job interview tips from a recruiter who made hiring decisions for 20+ years. It is so important for you to realize that in this job market, every interview truly COUNTS. Most people prepare for job interviews by memorizing their resume. That's not what gets you hired. I coach professionals on exactly what hiring managers are evaluating and how to walk into any interview as the obvious choice. #interview #interviewtips #careercoach #careertok #LearnItOnTikTok
I had a 3 hour interview on site... went very well I thought. I sent thank you emails and a follow up. that was 1 month ago tomorrow.... silence.. no response

Interesting that there were technical questions coming from the CEO at the 7th interview? That would tell me that there is either no internal convos happening or something isn’t clicking with technical ability up to this point. But that’s my opinion

7 interviews - I wouldn’t want to work at a company that takes that many interviews, because it reads to me - 1. They can’t make a decision, 2. They clearly have the wrong people interviewing if they need this many people to talk too. I’m truly wondering why employers think this is what good looks like. While it’s an employer market, it will change down the road again and that is the impression that the candidate will have .

Here’s what I noticed: companies are not serious about actually hiring. Everyone is in the clouds about summer. Nobody is focused. Late August-October is go time.

7 previous rounds of interviews with a presentation?? Surprised it sounded like she had no context for that last interview and was blindsided. Also, if the CEO is asking many technical questions that hadn’t been answered it sounds like a wasteful interviewer panel.

Something similar happened to me. Great news THANKS TO THE MOST HIGH YAH i still got the job. However it taught me no matter how many rounds, still engage each interview with fresh energy bc this is still a new person to reintroduce myself to. Great content!!!

More concerned about the fact that it took 7 interviews, that's a reflection on the company.

This just happened to me as well. Three great interviews including VP who basically said the next person she wanted me to meet was a formality. I went in thinking that and got questions I had never been asked before. I felt disappointed after but still hoped the job was mine. It wasn’t. Got the “thanks no thanks” email the next week. I’m still crushed. It’s been two weeks and I’m still not over it.

It’s almost like it’s some form of psychological conditioning to manipulate candidates that have been forced to invest an excessive amount of time/energy to achieve the role. Like a commitment technique of some sort.

Gosh, too late. It happened to me one year ago. After 7 interviews they invited me to their HQ in Germany. I prepared the cultural fit interview and… it was a technical one. I answered questions from the cultural point of view instead it was competencies. I lost the opportunity to. Thanks for sharing this, very useful

I assume the last interview is like trying to cross Gandalf. Anything and everything is fair game.

sounds like a lot of waste on overhead and time. would be a pass on my end. does not sound like a confident established company.

This job market is so depressing. AI reading your resume, ghosting, AI recruiters, AI interviews, 8 round interviews for ground level jobs, over analysis by HR that think they know how well you'll fitt because they took psych 101 in college a have a Myers-Briggs test. - All to answer " CAN YOU DO THE JOB", and none of these accomplish getting an answer - No wonder we're all burnt out and need therapy

7 interviews and having to do a work presentation on top of that is ridiculous. That company was already a poor fit.

Same thing happened to me! 4 panel interviews in, last one met with the head guy and 4 others- they hit me with 3 huge case studies. I was so annoyed and worn down & my energy showed it. The panel was so stiff & straight faced. I lost interest as well.

In my experience, that last interview with a department/division president or CEO is never a formality, even if the hiring manager says it's just a formality, no matter the job market.
