Not me thinking a crib mattress going to be the same size as a twin mattress 🤣🤣 I was so wrong! The transition is going so smooth and what I think helped is following the same tips we were given when we graduated her from a crib to a toddler bed last year: 💡 Talk to your toddler! If you’re planning to transition your little on from a crib to toddler bed to a toddler bed to a twin, talk to them about the idea weeks in advance to get them excited about it! Talking to Jade about how Daddy is going to build her big girl bed made her so look forward to the day that it finally haplened! 🫂 Reassurance. Acknowledge that change can feel different and it’s okay to feel nervous or scared, but that they’re safe and you’re there to support them through a fun and exciting change that they’re ready for. 🤔 Go with your gut. Don’t graduate them for the sake of doing so. Specifically with the crib to toddler bed transition, I fully advocate keeping little one in the crib until it’s unsafe to do so (ie they start to climb out). If they’re content in the crib, let them be! For this time around, Jade kept hitting her head on her toddler bed (as it was simply her converted crib) because she had gotten so tall for it.
