I've always seen math as our translation of logic, rather than math being its own thing. Math is literally a language, one that we as humans universally use to translate logic with if there were any other extraterrestrial beings, they'd probably not understand what math is, but they'd know the exact same concept we are displaying too. its like a if me, a Japanese, Spanish and Russian guy all look at what we call in english "an apple" they don't know wtf the word apple is but if we were shown this object, we'd all understand what it is, and what its for but we just don't translate it the same

We literally had terrible math for most centuries to describe the universe. Even Newton's wasn't right, and Einstein was aghast and rejected as bad math the very quantum mechanics we use to now describe the universe. What they see is survivorship bias: all the bad math was thrown out, and only the best explanations were used.

if mathrmarics is an invention so the whole physics is, the whole, facts, data collection is impossible without maths, then organisation of the facts into théories is marhematical as well. no prédictions possible without maths.

Back then it was unheard of that we could have higher dimensions. That would just indicate that particles interact in higher dimensions. Numbers only have to become imaginary in order for the sign rules to work out in adding another direction. It makes me wonder at why stop creating extra sign notation rules for plus one dimension. That may be a problem with supersymmetry theories, because we don’t have even higher imaginary dimensions with their own sign notation rules. It could mean that there is actually only one extra dimension.
