Couldn’t you take the floor boards out and trace them to the exact shape and put everything back?

I love watching the reality of your van build. There are so many of these videos around that make it look so easy whereas yours are so real and show a true build, warts and all.

I wonder if using a heat gun around the edges would help it relax more 🤔

Maybe splice in a strip of your leftovers and use caulking? Or buy some of that solid color countertop edging from the hardware store to connect the spliced strip? Possible idea

If u get the glue on your carpet use break and clutch cleaner on a scrap piece of carpet and it will rub off anything you have glued by accident xx

I hate to be the bearer of bad news however...that floor will buckle and warp. It will also peel and chip after constant use.
Firstly extreme temperatures will undo any and all adhesives (except maybe epoxy resin based). You have to understand that vehicles get 20°+ hotter inside so while it's 70° outside, it'll be nearly 90°-100° inside.
Secondly foot traffic will reek havoc on vinyl flooring. Understand that there's mud, water, sand, and scratches/scraping..all of which will destroy the floor. You'll be annoyed by the end of the first year, swearing by the end of year 3 and doing proper research for correct materials by the end of year 3.

ah man If I knew this was your next step I'd have said. flip the vinyl over. draw a center line on the vinyl and the van floor. now you have an easy way to line it up/keep it straight. (put a bit of masking tape on the top side at each end of your center line, makes life so much easier)
