Problem is the upper middle class think that they’re rich and they defend the billionaire class They are infinitely closer to being on the streets than ever being a billionaire

Its the same in the USA, the upper middle class think they're just moments away from being ultra wealthy so they want to protect the ultra wealthy from the government

I think the upper middle class is still working class because at the end of the day, they’re still expendable workers. They have enough money to portray themselves as rich with luxury cars, nice vacations, and designer bags. Unlike the upper class, they’re a layoff away from losing all of that.

Its simply because all this ‘tax the rich’ stuff always just leads to taxing the middle class and upper middle class, never the actual .1%. And unlike the real ‘poor’ none of it goes back to the middle class

Someone who grew up in poverty and has married into a upper- middle class family and has become a ‘professional’ I couldn’t agree more. The things they prioritise is insane to me. They think their enemy is the welfare state and not the billionaires 🤦🏼♀️

Every time when mentioning taxing wealth not income, they think its about them. Every time! Having a >£1 mil house, two cars, comfortable lifestyle is not the wealth we're talking about. I've got less than 1 cookie, middle class have 3 cookies, the wealthy have 1000 cookies

I genuinely don't think people can truly quantify how wealthy the very wealthy are. I think the middle and upper middle class think they in reaching distance of the very wealthy because they have some assets like a £1m house and go skiing in destinations where you might find billionaires and so it all seems aspirational when in actual fact the wealth of the super wealthy utterly eclipses them even collectively
