@ahnestkitchen: #SPAMBrandPartner Here’s how to make rolled @SPAM®️ Brand musubi a snack we had growing up as kids and still enjoy as adults! Makes: 30 to 33 rolls.
INGREDIENTS: FOR THE SPAM® SLICES 1 (12-ounce) can of SPAM® Classic Neutral oil 1 tablespoon sugar 1 tablespoon mirin 1 tablespoon soy sauce* (not fish sauce) FOR THE EGGS 4 large eggs Pinch of sugar Pinch of salt 4 teaspoons neutral oil, divided
FOR THE RICE 1 cup short- or medium-grain rice 1 ½ cups water 2 tablespoons sushi seasoning 1 ½ tablespoons roasted sesame oil 3 tablespoons furikake
TO ASSEMBLE Roasted, unseasoned seaweed for musubi or gimbap
INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Slice SPAM® Classic lengthwise into 8 planks, then cut each plank into 4 strips. If desired, blanch in boiling water for 1 minute and drain. 2. In a measuring cup, mix sugar, mirin, and fish sauce until the sugar dissolves. Place SPAM® Classic sticks in a frying pan over medium heat and lightly coat with oil. Cook, flipping occasionally, until crisp on both sides, 5–7 minutes. Add sauce and toss until evenly coated and glossy, about 30 seconds.
3. Whisk each egg separately with a pinch of salt and sugar. Heat a small frying pan with 1 tsp oil and cook each egg into a thin disc, tilting the pan to evenly coat the bottom. Flip when the egg is just set and cook briefly on the second side. Stack 2 egg discs at a time, roll tightly, and slice into ribbons.
4. Cook rice. Keep warm if needed. Transfer to a mixing bowl and season with sushi seasoning and sesame oil. Add furikake and mix until evenly combined.
5. Place a thin layer of rice on a square of seaweed. Add a SPAM® Classic stick slightly below center and place egg ribbons directly above it. Roll tightly away from you so the SPAM® Classic sticks and egg sit together in the center. Repeat with the remaining ingredients. #musubi #EasyRecipe #protein #snackideas
