It was most likely because the one that got outside smelled different and the other thought it was a stranger cat. My youngest did the same thing to our middle cat after he had to go to the vet. he smelled different and became a stranger. I had to put Oliver in the washroom and let Trike and him smell eachother from under the door. Eventually Trike realized that it was his best friend Oliver and dropped his beef. We had to board both Trike and Oliver when my oldest and tiniest girl had to go in for dental surgery and they had to stay at the boarding place for about a week. Now we know that if either my girl or Oliver have to go to the vet we make sure to take Trike as well so he smells the same and the cat who needed the vet wasn't a stranger.

it's because they were apart, I took 2 of my cats to get spayed at the same time in different pet carriers and when I brought them home, they didn't get along with my other cat or each other for close to a week,then just back to normal

So glad they are all good now. I have a ginger his name is milkshake 12kg. They might have been having issues sharing their limited ginger cat braincells so they were glitching. 😅
