👋🏻 Hi! Tallest girl is class until high school here (and then 3rd or 4th tallest). The best thing my parents did for me when I was in elementary and middle school was they made sure my clothes fit. No high waters, no shirts or skirts that were too short. I grew so quickly, it was difficult, but they made it happen. They also made sure I alway stood up straight and my dad would always make positive comments about tall women when we saw them in public or would tell me that I was like Wonder Woman. Because of them, I love being tall. I’m 5’10”, 50 years old and I’ve worn 3” heels to work my entire career. 💕💕

I think a lot of people are misunderstanding her. She’s not saying that your kid can’t be extremely unique or have weird hobbies that their friends aren’t into—she’s saying that there are ways to express those qualities and interests in ways that actually bring other kids in and make them want to engage rather than in ways that just isolate your kid further.

I'm your height and a little heavier than you (thanks menopause lol), so the whole being the tallest in my classes is in my wheelhouse like it is yours lol. My mom and step-dad even made fun of my height. The late 70's and 80's were not kind to tall women, double knit polyester pants were SO not it lol! I married a 6'6" man and have 2 girls, one is 6'2" and the other is 5'10". I was able to teach them about how to ignore the mean kids and embrace their height. I wore heels as a young woman, but now that I'm 62 and have had both knees replaced, I can't wear them anymore. Back in the day it was SO hard to find clothes that were cute AND were long enough, because I'm all legs. Shoes were another issue once I got to a 10 😂

I never even thought of this. My daughter is only 3 so no school til September 27 but this is super helpful to know - thank you and your daughter will thrive, what a great mom 💜

My step son wants to blend in and we try to give him advice but he unfortunately still does what he so chooses and has a hard time. He tries to act like those cool boys and do what the cool kids do and unfortunately unless you have already been accepted into that crew that Doesnt fly. That gets a target on your back. He is only 14. Hopefully it gets easier for him
