@imogengracejephson: Filmed this on Monday 13th last week when I thought I was turning a corner. Unfortunately, last week took a turn for the worse, which is why I’ve been a little quiet on here. Recovery isn’t always a straight line, but I wanted to share this in case it helps someone else feel less alone. 🤍
I’m so sorry you’re going through this. People won’t understand unless they’ve experienced it. Medication saved my life. Propranolol was a god send. Now i’m on fluoxetine and haven’t had an attack in over 3 years.

Stand in freezing cold water at the end of your showers. Sounds horrific and obviously makes you hyperventilate from the cold but it helps you practice regulating your breathing and catching your breath when you are in an active panic attack. Google cold showers for anxiety 💗💗💗

the worse thing about having a panic attack is the fear of having another. I had 1 just before covid I actually rang 999 thinking I was dying xx

Been there is crazy scary. Ice in the hands put some black pepper in your mouth another trick ice cube on the roof of your mouth. And one thing that helped me was I changed my diet. Suger and caffeine can help trigger it.

panic attacks are one of the scariest experiences that i've ever been through. i've been through them for years and they've made me faint many times, made my IBS symptoms worse, and have taken months off of me because of the exhaustion. things that definitely helped me were medications to slow my heart rate, breathing exercises, grounding techniques and therapy. like even if you don't think you NEED therapy and feel like you have nothing to talk about, it can be so good just to know someone is listening. squishy toys, a nice breeze and ice cold water are always good too! take it easy for a bit if you must lass <3

I hope this doesn’t come across condescending. But I’m so proud of you to speak on this. I suffer horrifically . You physically feel you are dying. More people need to speak on this. Take care of yourself. And sending lots of love xx

I’m very grateful that I can count on both hand how many panic attacks I’ve had, but the ones I have had have taken me to the floor and made me feel like they’ll never end. If I ever feel a panicky situation or if my anxiety becomes overwhelming the only thing that brings me comfort is that if I can’t stop the attack, I know it will eventually end because it always does. It’s not a perfect solution but it eases the fear and most times prevents the escalation. The second I accept it and focus on that it won’t be forever, it almost somehow eases. Sending love darling (ps spag bol looks fab) xxx

It’s so normal to go to the hospital when you experience a panic attack I’ve done it multiple times 🥲 it’s the scariest, worst feeling in the world but it does get easier once you realise you need to take a break and find out what triggers you. I didn’t drink any caffeine for 3 years because it petrified me but now I’m able to manage my anxiety I have eased it back in slowly, I really hope your okay it was the scariest time of my life and is horrendous ❤️🩹

As a therapist I see often the power panic attacks have on people, the symptoms can replicate a heart attack so when experiencing for the 1st time yes the first thought is my heart, "im dying". highly recommend therapy to help you understand and work through everything your going through .
