You know what...? I actually liked the overall clarity of the ebonite, especially in the higher register. It really sang out. Wood still wins every time in the low register, though. That's non-negotiable. Plastic is just super bright, as expected.

Honestly, I did not expect the ebonite to be so bright. It’s an interesting tone for sure! But I prefer the wood. lol

I prefer the wood clarinet. to me, it just has more depth. I have never cared for the plastic.

my high school gave me the franken-clarinet that was half plastic half wood 😭 you can imagine how horrible it was, i had to larp playing it out on the field
