My now boyfriend was the same way. When we met, he was almost 39 and hadn’t had any long term relationships and neither did I, honestly. He told me he was work/school focused for years - he was defending his dissertation at the time, so I didn’t see it as a red flag. For me, I just didn’t have much luck with men before him. I was 31.
