@knockonwoodfl: My favorite small space transformation yet!!! It all started with these exact words..."I NEED MORE STORAGE SPACE" and with a lot of work, and a little bit of time- I ended up with a beautiful storage area and more space than I ever imagined. Outside of the bedroom closets, my entire house only had ONE small closet which I used for linens, towels and anything that I could possibly squeeze in. It was the closet of terror. In the same space was a desk I never used and a couple of cabinets that were basically useless. My first thought was to get rid of the desk and build a bigger closet area. That idea really didn't work because of the closet that was awkwardly sitting in the middle of what could be the greatest storage build of all. I decided the closet needed to GO too! NO REGRETS! With the closet being gone it opened up a world of ideas. I got creative and built myself a functional and beautiful space. Originally, I wanted a floor-to ceiling build but because of the air filter placement, I had to settle for 9.5' ft tall, floor to almost ceiling cabinetry. I wanted to utilize all of the space possible but leaving enough clearance for the filter vent. With the cabinets being that tall I needed a way to access the upper cabinets without having to drag my ladder in every time. That's when the idea of a rolling library ladder rolled in. A Greatest idea ever. I partnered with @Rocklerwoodworking and they sent me this gorgeous 8'ft oak rolling library ladder and track system, which I'm obsessed with. It was easy to assemble and mount and it comes ready to be stained. As you can see, it's become my favorite part of this build. Thanks, Rockler! Another brilliant idea was to hide my robot vacuum when not in use. I built a little space just for it on the bottom of the drawer cabinet. Now it's out of the way and it charges while it's tucked away in its new home. There are so many details that I want to highlight about this build but for now l'Il leave it here.
