I’m an elementary teacher in a low income district. I give my families no list and pay for 30 students out of my own pocket each year. The way this country has set up education is insane. Families and teachers shouldn’t be expected to pay hundreds of dollars every year in order to send kids to school. If we are going to make families legally obligated to send children to school we need to make it more accessible because what we have ain’t it.

Question, genuine interest: why do I always see back to school shopping from the US and you all just buy random backpacks? Do you not have proper school bags? We usually buy one at the start of elementary school that lasts for a few years and they look completely different, are way more sturdy and made for kids when it comes to ergonomic stuff

over here where I am in the UK the schools have only just broken up for the summer and they go back at the beginning of September. I'm also thankful that all I need to buy for back to school is uniform, shoes, coat and backpack (for primary age children) I love the girls choices 😍

10/10 recommend those glue sticks! That way they can’t roll off the table. Your girls teachers thank you for them, I promise! I may or may not keep the caps for other glue sticks once those run out. 🫣😂

UK watcher here.. that is wild that you have to buy glue sticks, pencils and colouring crayons?! Our kids don’t even need to take a pencil case😂

As a Brit the fact you supply the classrooms with supplies always amazes and confuses me. We buy supplies but only for our kids.😀😀 By the way no hate here just amazed at the difference before anyone gets upset.
