@hollywoodhistory: Blind hate and blind worship are not forms of criticsm, but society is becoming extremely uncomfortable with the nuances of true criticism, and The Odyssey is revealing those discomforts. Obviously, if you bring in race, you’re on another plane entirely. 🗡️ #theodyssey #christophernolan #odyssey #filmtok #filmcritic
Well said. I hope this video is not skipped, but viewed and understood fully by others.

To critique you need to think critically and therein lies the biggest problem- no one wants to critically think and everyone wants to be a critic

I found the odyssey to be a technical marvel but I have many issues with the way Nolan adapts the story and characters

The negative Opinions of it pushes the Trump/MAGA narrative, that DEI is a problem.

I liked it a lot as a film, but I thought it was a terrible adaptation of The Odyssey. I’m an English professor, and I freely admit I’m not a classicist, but I have taught a lot of future high school English teachers how to present Homer.

Nolan should have just made a PTSD war movie set in modern times.

I thought it was a very well made film! Good points! I guess I am a simple guy. I just get my box of popcorn and coke. Sometimes I will add a snickers bar to the mix. I just enjoy the movie and do not get mixed up in the “politics” of it. Just love and enjoy! It’s entertainment! 😎😁

The movie is cinematically great but the lack of Mediterranean actors , horrible costume design and questionable dialogue , completely kills my immersion

I saw it yesterday. It was ok. Too loud but that's a Nolan trademark in his films. It was fascinating to watch but I wasn't blown away and it's not in my top ten but it's worth seeing in theaters.
