Why does equity become riskier as a company is levered up? is it because higher leverage diminishes a company’s debt coverage abilities? However I would argue the relationship isn’t linear. If a company is well able to cover its interest payments then adding more debt increases the risk profile minimally compared to a company that is already highly levered. Right? Am I missing something?
