my baby - Black Heart Equestrian turns 9 this year (i feel old?) but this isn’t about that, this is about the one person who has been there for almost every single chapter. this is about eby. eby and i met through friends on an 18th birthday, we were immediately obsessed and followed each other around all night. she was a signed model so i knew i HAD to have her do our first shoot… then first show…then she really changed the course of both my personal life and black hearts life by introducing me to tiktok. i was so stubborn (are we shocked?) and thought it was just dumb and the videos were embarrassing. she was like erin, trust me and at least just use it for video editing. i did. (and well we see where that led… thanks for accidentally making me a dreaded ‘influencer’ gf). it’s even funnier though because she never actually planned (or wanted) to work for bhe (or maybe it was me?) initially i asked her to come and organise our warehouse for some extra cash because she’s one of those really strange people who genuinely enjoys organising things and happens to be good at it. later, she was in the position of needing a job and i happened to need someone part time and trustworthy. from there i very quickly realised she was invaluable to the brand so i begged … yes begged… for her to become full time and be the office manager. boooooooy did she resist, i had to negotiate (bribe) her with extra holiday days, more money, wfh opportunities and she still hesitated (she eventually gave in bc i can be quite persuasive 😏) and it was the best decision i ever made. i never really saw her as an employee of mine but a partner. she’s been a sounding board, problem solver, manager, content creator, organiser, peace keeper and the person who keeps Black Heart moving when i’m not there (and even when i am) this is special. after 10 years of friendship and many years of helping build Black Heart, Eby is now officially a Director and Shareholder of Black Heart Equestrian. its impossibly hard to put into words how much i love this girl and how grateful I am for her but i hope i did ok !!!!! how lucky am i to get to work and run a business with my bestie!!!!!! thank u eby @Ebony May Maude ✨ @BlackHeartEquestrian
