Definitely invest in a Stanley knife for sockets. I also love pastel colours on walls, sometimes brown paper. After I left my last school they changed to make EVERY display board across the school the same. How boring is that?!

If you have plastic pins they really help with putting up display backing paper I used those all the time in my last nursery before stapling everything down x
