litterally, i had a friend whose man would antagonize her for hours until she was desperate enough to throw hands and he would use that as justification to beat her.... and she even thought she was the bad guy 🙄 made me fkg sick how this guy messed with her brain

i think Johnny had reactive abuse. whereas in an attempt to defend yourself, you become like the abuser hence why there is evidence of them both abusing each other. not sure who started it though so it could be the opposite. i was in a relationship like that

yeah. people don’t understand. especially if it’s a situation where you genuinely feel scared that you are not going to be able to deescalate things like normal by fawning. Abusers turn animalistic when angry it’s so scary it puts your body into fight or flight mode

i hate when people try to dehumanize a victim by saying they both were bad and abusing. mutual abuse does not exist, one is abusive and the victim is doing self defense and reacting to the abuse. an abuse victim will almost never be «the perfect victim» and people need to learn and understand this.
