PCOS is a complex hormonal and metabolic condition influenced by genetics, insulin resistance, hormone regulation, and environmental factors. It’s not caused by trauma.

really. Thats very interesting. I was 6 when my dad abandoned us. around 8 i slowly started gaining weight. My mom took me to hospital around 10,11 for serve belly pain. The doc told her i was going to start my period. Dam near starved myself as a teen. lost a little but didnt matter how much i exercised or how little i ate or how much water i drank. Fast forward to age 22. Trying to have a baby. Doc did scope and told me i had PCOS and i would likely never have a child. 11 years of unprotected sex with my husband and well, we had a little miracle. Ive excepted i will always be fat years ago, but make healthy food choices and take our dog for a walk every day! Now in menopause and my family has said i act like i have a brain injury. Going to seek help but here in canada not sure it will happen. pray for me.

What do you do to fix it? Ignoring it and pretending it didn't happen will not help.

current evidence doesn’t show that childhood trauma causes PCOS. it may worsen symptoms, but it’s not considered the cause
