Woolworth was my first job at 15yrs old! 😂 I was a cashier. And they also had a very small pet section. And part of my job was taking care of the goldfish and the little finches. I'm turning 53yrs old in September. This was back in 1989☺️🙏❤️

This brings back the loveliest memories from my childhood! My grandmother would make this in a metal ice cube tray (1960’s). She called it “Dessert”. After our meal each of us was served 2 cubes of luscious lemon happiness.

Holy cow this brought back memories. I used to work in the Woolworth candy counter as a teenager. Lunchtime we would go sit at the lunch counter and get a grilled cheese or tuna sandwich and a piece of the ice box pie. I think the whole lunch cost about a dollar or so. I haven’t had this since then. I’m definitely going to give this recipe a whirl. ♥️

Remember the Woolworth at Bigtown mall in Dallas. They had the cafe with a counter too. Always got the hamburger with fries and have never had a perfect Coca Cola like that since.

I worked at Woolworths. It was part of the Decca club in high school. They put all of the teenagers on the candy counter for the first week. back then the KANDY was all loose and after a week of sampling a little bit of this, that we couldn’t have cared less!!! The peanuts were heated by a lightbulb. I got transferred to the lunch counter and was taught. We only gave 15 fries per order!

My mom would make this dessert all the time for Sunday dinners. Sometimes we would called it her cheesecake 😀sometimes she would doctor it up and mix blueberries and make a blueberry glaze we would ask for pie.
