@eyedropshop: That may be true for soft contact lenses, but have you ever heard of scleral lenses?👁️ Unlike regular contact lenses that sit directly on the cornea, scleral lenses are larger and rest on the white part of your eye (the sclera). Before they’re inserted, they’re filled with preservative-free saline, creating a cushion of fluid that keeps the surface of your eye hydrated and protected throughout the day.💧 They’re often recommended for people with: • Severe dry eye disease • Sjögren’s syndrome • Neurotrophic keratitis • Keratoconus and other irregular corneas • Corneal scarring and certain ocular surface diseases And yes, they can be made with your prescription to correct your vision. If you don’t need vision correction, they can also be fit without a prescription to help protect the surface of your eye.😎 Scleral lenses aren’t the right option for everyone, but for the right patient, they can dramatically improve comfort, vision, and quality of life. If you’ve been told your eyes are “too dry” for contact lenses, ask your eye doctor if scleral lenses could be an option for you. They might just change the way you see and feel. 👁️💙 #optometrist #scleralenses #contactlenses #dryeyes #eyedrops

If I have severe dry eye and I put drops in every 30 minutes, could scleral lenses bring me comfort and make me feel like a normal person again? I'm afraid that maybe if my eyes are too dry I won't be able to tolerate them.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
