Before they’re inserted, they’re filled with preservative-free saline, creating a cushion of fluid that keeps the surface of your eye hydrated and protected throughout the day.💧 They’re often recommended for people with: • Severe dry eye disease • Sjögren’s syndrome • Neurotrophic keratitis • Keratoconus and other irregular corneas • Corneal scarring and certain ocular surface diseases And yes, they can be made with your prescription to correct your vision. If you don’t need vision correction, they can also be fit without a prescription to help protect the surface of your eye.😎 Scleral lenses aren’t the right option for everyone, but for the right patient, they can dramatically improve comfort, vision, and quality of life.
