Dogs can live up to 10 years, imagine having a pet for 10+ years and one day they're gone, ESPECIALLY if the owner isn't close to family and just lives with the dog ngl

My aunt had her vizsla for 19 years (they are NOT supposed to live that long), and he passed in 2013. She still mourns him. She started an animal rescue in his name, and has said she wouldn't be alive today if she didn't have that to help her through it. She's had other dogs and cats since then, but none of them will ever replace Teddy. That was her son in every sense of the word, and anyone who can't understand that can kick rocks.

3 weeks ago today I lost my best friend. I have actually had to tell someone in the last few weeks to stfu. "Just a dog," she saw more tears, more pain, more achievements and joy than any human. Shes not just a dog. Astrid was and is my best friend.
