Honestly, I’d say it’s the other way around. They turn anxious people into secure people. You suffer so much, that, as a survival mechanism, you learn to set boundaries early on and walk away the minute you identify red flags. You also learn to appreciate peace over chaos. Happened to me.

Secure people wouldn’t deal with avoidants. They will not tolerate the ups and downs and the withdrawals and hot/cold emotions. Anxious people will deal with it because they can’t imagine being alone and legitimately think this is the only person they’ll find. It’s a facade. Other avoidants will stay with avoidants also because they are both surface level and don’t even see the gap.
