I made a 30 minute bike ride in 8 minutes. it was 3am, my mum only heard me scream and shout as I ran out the door without my helmet. I remember the smell of melted rubber from when I slammed on the breaks outside their house. the grass stains on my jeans from when I flew off my bike never came out. they had messaged me saying 'thank you for everything' I didn't even know if they would still be alive when I got there. they had taken all their anti-depressants. their parents yelled at me for kicking their door in. they yelled at me for running past them. I made it to him in time. he was smiling at me and crying. He's still alive today, even though he doesn't talk to me any more, I will never forget that night

"I'm coming, wait for me" but it's me (a disabled person) running through two neighborhoods on the 4th of July when my friend told me he'd be one of the fireworks that night. He called me halfway through that run. Told me how he loved me and asked me to tell our friends it wasn't their fault. I made it to his house 3 minutes too late.

This but my aunt facing her agoraphobia and fear of driving to drive in the middle of the night without headlights on to go to the hospital where her husband of 30 years was at (we did not know at the time why he was there). I remember her waking me up crying that I come with her in the car because she was so afraid to be alone and mire afraid her husband would leave her alone. this was literally the first time she had driven in YEARS and she drove for her soulmate in the dark.

“i’ll get help daddy” but its me racing five blocks to the corner store at 9 years old with two handfulls of pennies hoping they’ll give me quarters so I can call the ambulance in time. They took too long to count them. I ran down the street waving at cars until someone pulled over and let me use their cell to call 911. He made it that night, but passed shortly after because he couldn’t stop using. I miss you dad. I tried my very best.

“I’m coming wait for me” but it’s my dad, dropping everything at work and turning the 1 Hour Drive into 20 minutes because he got a call from my mom saying that I passed out and was actively dying at the hospital because my appendix ruptured and the triage nurses didn’t take me seriously. (my doctor at the hospital apparently yelled at them when I got out of surgery because when he got to me, I was four hours away from being dead and they actually had to resuscitate me on the operating table)

This but it's my friend's dad who literally ran across the entire city after an earthquake hit because the lines were down, the transportation system collapsed and he had no way of knowing if his daughter was okay.

Learned how to tie my jump rope that I had been given from my dad into the knot. Walked into my room, checked my phone one last time to see a text from my friend who lived up the street, asking me if she could come over. I called her and broke down. She got on her skate board and raced down the street to me, begging me to wait. It's been 6 years. I still am so grateful to her, yet so sorry for putting her through that stress. She was a child just as I was back then. She never deserved to feel that way that young.
