@haleykloha: Have you thought about this? Bioessentialism has a tendency to sneak in whenever we discuss gender based violence and misogyny. It’s imperative we remember to include the social conditioning and structures that live underneath this reality. Misogyny and misogynoir are (two of multiple) enforcement arms of the patriarchy, but they’re not something that’s inherent to gender. We must decenter men and recenter misogyny and misogynoir in conversations about domestic violence.
