Iraq contracted for it as part of an arms deal in 2012, receiving the first batch of the Mi-28NE variant in late 2013 and early 2014. Iraq later received the dual-control training and combat version, the Mi-28UB. The total number delivered to Iraq is estimated at 15 to 19 helicopters, with the active operational fleet currently estimated at 11 to 15 helicopters due to combat operations and operational wear. ​Cannon Specifications ​The helicopter is equipped with an automatic cannon stronger than those on most attack helicopters, the 30 mm Shipunov 2A42, capable of penetrating up to 25 mm of armor from a distance of 1,500 meters. The turret moves in a wide arc with an azimuth angle of up to \pm110^\circ. It carries 250 rounds with a dual-feed system that allows switching between high-explosive (HEI) and armor-piercing (APDS) rounds.
