My Mom is actively passing. Thank you for posting this. I massaged her arms and neck today. She has been sleeping non stop and not alert. I sponged her mouth with those popsicle sponge things. She hasn’t eaten anything, this is day four. It’s so sad watching her, but I keep telling her I love her.

my grandma just passed in hospice care and before her decline i had watched your videos to prepare myself. it helped me feel less scared and i was able to tell loved ones who were not familiar what was happening to her body. she passed away peacefully, not in pain, and you provided my mind with peace via knowledge and being able to educate myself on the process. thank you so much. ♡🪽🩺

My mom was dying and on an iv, she sounded like her lungs were filling with fluid it was horrible.

The worst part of watching my Dad die was him yelling to sit him up because he was drowning in his own fluids after a hospital stay on constant IV’s. We didn’t know he wasn’t going to make it until he was already pumped full of fluids. It was the part of him dying that haunts me, because I cannot imagine how panicked he must have felt. Thank you for sharing this…I could not agree more with you

the hospice nurses told my mom this when my grandma was dying, but my mom always had some guilt around not having a hydration tube. Thanks for confirming what the hospice people told us back then!

I'm a CNA, and working with these patients has taught me this: dying isn't the painful part, "hydrating" and bringing them back is. It's sad, but dying is normal, and has to happen. Also, if you keep a dying person on a full code, you're an asshole.

Years as a home health care giver my patient a very old man wanted some beer. Family wouldn't let him have it not wanting him to be drunk. I let him have the few sips he wanted. what a wonderful smile and a sigh. He died a few hours later a happy man.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I have felt haunted for years because I didn’t realize til after my grandmother had passed that they had stopped giving her IV fluids. So I felt like it was my fault she died because I had so much on me at the time I didn’t realize that the IV fluid had been taken away. You have helped to heal my broken heart. Thank you.

Thank you for all you do to educate us. People really need to better understand the death process. Especially to avoid accidently prolonging the suffering and death of our loved ones from lack of knowledge. When my grandma chose to no longer stay, the nursing home staff was undereducated. One nurse even said she couldn't have her pain meds unless she took them with applesauce. She was on hospice 😔 The nurse meant well but it dragged on for weeks and was very painful for us all.
