The mistake is assuming that because attraction involves choice, it must therefore work exactly like a market. That doesn’t follow. What people generally find attractive may explain broad patterns, but it does not define a person’s value or determine compatibility between two specific people. Someone can be widely desired and still be wrong for you, while someone others overlook may be exactly right for you. Attraction reflects preference, it does not measure human worth.

I mean, you’re speaking about an entire dating culture that’s built on superficiality, where people get into relationships and marriages for show & they actually hate the person they’re with. Which is why there’s a huge cheating endemic. So while it’s true that at the baseline being sexually attractive is common sense whether you are or aren’t. The whole “value” for being in a relationship, that’s built on a bed of lies people tell themselves just so they can sleep better at night & not have to be alone with their thoughts.
