Ive noticed dollar tree sells things for a few cents higher than walmart, with fewer ounces… its very upsetting bc i know people sometimes ONLY live near dollar tree or dollar general (which is EVEN worse)

“what’d you expect from something so cheap?” if THIS is the expectation for FOOD sold to HUMANS, at ANY price, ‘poverty level’, or even which STORE it’s sold at. cause, granted that is definitely sold other than dollar tree, and definitely sold for more. Yet we have “no excuse” to not be ‘healthy’. We are in probably the worst recession ever, and what’s so funny is they got so mad about population during covid, that they tried to ban abortion, but when WE the people complain about BASIC NECESSITY, it’s OUR fault. yeah no. Fun fact something doesn’t have to be made locally for it do be advised as locally fresh. For example cheese can be shipped to Wisconsin, stored for 24 hours in cold storage, and once that’s done it becomes local cheese. It’s sold and advertised as local cheese 🧀! I urge people to research!

Poverty exploitation. Poverty tax. If you have money and can pay bills on time or in advance- you get rewards. If you do not have enough money and can not pay bills on time - you have to pay more for not having enough - late fees. If you have money and can buy in bulk- you get discounts. You pay less per unit/item. If you are low on money, u pay more per unit/item, have to limit the amount you need/use, be willing to buy expiring item or like you are highlighting here - being offered food at an affordable price that strips away some of there their dignity and worth as a person. Love ur content.

Dollar tree had saved me when I was on my own at 18 with so support. It’s really sad to see how younger me would have been priced out of so many essentials because of how all these price increases have added up.

My food bank specifically for kids , gives us expired canned food. How long does it take for canned food to expire??? As much as beggars can’t be choosers, I’m not feeding my children expired food that can make them sick. I work 7 days a week and they are home alone often as I have full custody. Makes me sad.
