@cellodaily: Glinka wrote it in 1839. That autumn he learned his wife had been unfaithful, walked out of his home, and never went back. Within days he asked for a divorce and told her that no tears, no prayers, no persuasion would ever change his mind. Somewhere inside that private wreckage of a marriage, he sat at the piano and wrote this nocturne. He called it "Разлука" - "The Separation." 🎻🎹 The music doesn't shout or accuse.
