If I've already beaten a game once or twice. mod the living daylights out of it. How you want me to do the same quests over and over without making it interesting. I've already seen the storyline. I know how it ends. I've beaten the big bad already. Now it's time for some shenanigans😂

Jokes aside, on a first playthrough, you always go vanilla unless the game requires third party resources to function properly like Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines or KOTOR 2. And depending on the replayability of the game, I'd say keep it vanilla for the second or third playthrough, like I did with Cyberpunk. But after that point, go fucking ham with the mods. My Cyberpunk save has 1200 mods now.

That's a dumb take. Alot of modders are just really knowledgeable on one specific thing to improve a game. May it be graphics, cutscene enhancer, skipping unneeded animations or cutscenes for certain actions. Like just take skyrim for example. There are hundreds of thousands of mods which turn the game upside down. And it's awesome.

funnily enough this is exactly how i feel about cosmetic mods. the only mods i think id actually use is stuff that actually aides you. like the extra info mod in isaac. but that would probably be it. but i play on console anyway so i dont need to worry about that crap

some of my favorite games with hundreds or thousands of hours get extremely boring without some new spice added to em. rimworld especially, the base game is fast and each update adds new quality of life. but still some mechanics only mods bring are a must have because the base game handles them poorly
