They also can’t afford to go to the festival!!! Normal people have been priced out of Edinburgh, and a lot of up and coming artists, or the next wave of artists, cannot take the time off of day jobs to go to Edinburgh, and cannot afford accommodation for the month. It’s SHAMEFUL in this day and age.

Tried to get a foot in the door to the TV industry and they are so closed off to new people. Gave up when ai came into play. So disheartening when you can see how new talent, across the arts could bring so much to us but we're all locked out.

as an Edinburgh resident the fringe sucks. it just does. the events are good but the impact on the town is a nightmare when youre just trying to go to work. cant walk 2 seconds down the road without some underpaid teen trying to shove a flyer in my face. its what made me move away.

i've never rlly wanted to go to the fringe, bc it's quite obvious that it's a festival IN scotland, not FOR scotland. most of the big names working it aren't even scottish, and if you're not a performer the experience of actually attending sounds unbelievably stressful & overstimulating :( i'd love to go to a festival centring actual scottish art + culture though!!
