Your criticism is basically saying, “Most people won’t experience the film in its most ideal format, therefore it’s stupid to make it that way.” But that’s backwards. Most people don’t own a cinema-sized TV, but that doesn’t mean you make the film for a phone screen. You make the film for the best possible viewing experience, then distribute it so people can enjoy it on whatever screen they have. If anything, the fact that most people can’t see 70mm IMAX is an argument for preserving and offering that experience- not for abandoning it. Lowkey it’s soo fukin stupid to me how many ppl use this as a critique.

ryan coogler filmed sinners in 70mm and encouraged everyone to see it in 70 mm if possible. but he also filmed it in multiple formats, knowing that seeing it in 70mm wasn’t an option for everyone.
