When it comes to eliminating shoulder stiffness and restoring range of motion, shoulder flossing is a TOP technique! Shoulder compression flossing works by clamping down the muscles and joints with so much compression that it forces the muscles and tissues to glide against the resistance, breaking up a ton of stiff, bound-up fascia in the process. Not only does it immediately improve your shoulder range of motion, but it also helps push out swelling and restores blood flow to the joint — making it a really clutch shoulder mobility warm-up tool to prime your muscles for a solid training session. Now, flossing isn't for the faint of heart — it's definitely up there with some of the most uncomfortable shoulder tissue release techniques, but the results speak for themselves. Once you've applied the floss, you need to be quick, as you'll feel the effects (and discomfort) of the compression immediately. Try your best to move through the different ranges of motion and push the joint as far as you naturally can against the resistance. Make no mistake, it's definitely a brutal exercise, but if you can push through moving your joints in different directions, you'll be super impressed with the improved shoulder mobility results once that band is off. Remember, never go above 2 minutes. This is an awesome warm-up tool to get you past any range of motion obstacles that could be impacting your lifting. But remember, it's the lifting and practicing proper technique that will KEEP your mobility gains. The novelty and party trick of the floss will wear off after a few days if you don't cement the results into place through proper shoulder resistance training. All in all, it's definitely a nifty ace up your sleeve whenever you need some quick access to mobility and joint range of motion. And the cool thing is, it works especially well on other joints like the knees and elbows. If you need compression floss bands, check out my link in profile! Our TWS Compression Floss comes with a complete library of detailed tutorials on how to use them safely and effectively 💯 Disclaimer: Compression floss is a great tool to improve range of motion, but it definitely isn't for everyone. Always ask your physiotherapist or healthcare provider if it's suitable for your situation and needs.
