@cbcnews: U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order imposing 50 per cent tariffs on a wide range of Canadian exports, set to take effect in 30 days. A senior White House official described the move as "defensive measures" against what the official called Canada's discriminatory trade policies on U.S. motor vehicles, dairy and alcohol. Energy, potash, critical minerals and fish would be exempt. But unlike previous rounds of U.S. tariffs, there would be no exemptions for goods covered by the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA).
