I love immersive reading so I tend to do a combination of audio & physical / ebook but I 100% agree on that it depends on the book. I'm currently eyeball reading all the ACOTAR books because I just can't vibe with the audio or graphic audio books for it. I love having an audiobook on deck for when I'm busy and can't just sit with a book.

Nope. The narrator for the assistant to the villain is trash. I know they claim it’s a person. But it has to be AI. I will die on this hill. Ruined the book for me.

I like immersion reading. listening while it follows the kindle version while I crochet. That way if I think I didn't hear something right, I can go back in the kindle a few lines to check. also I can screen shot the funny shit to send to people.

I’m Dutch. I really can’t stand listening to Dutch audiobooks; most of them are read as if you’re sitting in a math class. I do enjoy physical books, though. But my preference is definitely English—and preferably audiobooks with dual or multiple narrators.

For audio books it really truly depends on the narrators - I can love the physical book so much and not be able to finish the audio version because the narrator is so bad, or just lifeless or sometimes just doesn’t do it for me. I will purposely listen to audiobooks I’ve never heard of before simply because I know I really enjoy the narrator(s).

I tend to prefer to read romantasy as I hate the way they are read in audio books, but I enjoy a lot of fantasy on audible, I've listened to almost all of Brandon Sanderson books, I started on audio because I'd listen while cleaning, now those voices are the voices of the characters and it would be weird not to have them lol

I read Michael Crichton’s “Dragon Teeth”, a historical fiction set during the Bone Wars of the western expansion post Civil War. Was a lovely book. Then I listened to it, with Scott Brock’s narration. Also well done, and after listening to several biographies and history books narrated by him, it now felt like he was reading the memoirs of someone that actually hunted dinosaur bone with OC Marsh and Edward Cope in the 1890s.

Audio at work, I’ve been off work since January. I’ve been reading kindle books I’m in like 50 th book. I do not listen to virtual voices !

I like audiobooks while I game but prefer physical copies. but I agree some books don't "hit right in my ear hole" 🤣 when the moon hatched was that book for me. I had to dnf the audio and grab a physical copy

I absolutely love read physical copy. However, my boss lets me work with ear buds (I sew marine canvas) so I listen to a lot of audiobooks while at work and on my 45 minute commute to work.
